MAWA Coursing weekend a huge success.

The Metropolitan Atlanta Whippet Association hosted AKC Coursing in Cartersville on May 20-21, 2006. The event proved to be a huge success with over 45 JC test done each day along with the regular trial. The club will look to host at least three AKC coursing events each year along with the ASFA Thanksgiving weekend we currently host. Results will be posted on this site for the winners in a few days.

MAWA loses one of its long term founding members.

On January 25, 2006, we lost one of the breeds greatest breeders, and a long time MAWA member.
Dr. James R Gray of Elysian whippets passed away at St Mary’s Hospital in Athens, GA.

A memorial service will be held at the home of Ann Clifford (Dr Gray’s niece) on Feb. 26, 2006 at 1 pm.
